How long have SSDs been around at a price tolerable by consumers?

about 10-15 years.

Yeah,
and you want me to somehow have experience with SSDs for over 10 years
to check on actual stats across multitudes of different brands and
models of SSDs.

hard drives don't normally last that long, so why demand it from an ssd?

the reality is that ssds are more reliable than spinning hard drives in
addition to being significantly faster, and that's without needing to
jump through hoops to manually reprovision anything.

other parts of the computer will need replacing before the ssd wears
out.

more commonly, users want more space and upgrade a perfectly fine ssd,
just as they did with hard drives.

Maybe BackBlaze has stats for you.

in fact, they do.

after about 3 years, hard drive failures dramatically increase, and by
6 years, half are expected to fail.
