SSD? I said HDD. The spinning type.


Well some of the "spinning type" have also been known to have
built-in secure eraser software in their firmware that can be
activated by specific software released by the manufacturer. In
theory this is best because it allows any data not directly
accessible by the operating system to be deleted as well -
though also using "dd if=/dev/urandom" might be the best
guarantee.
