Yes, of course.

Interleaving is the answer.

Find a spec that gives the "frame format", to see
the interleaved layout, any header bytes and so on.
Somewhere, there has to be a declaration concerning
the format of the data.

Communications are unidirectional, so the AV receiver
cannot "ask" for anything. All the comms go in
one direction.
