I've tried upping the voltage a little, but this doesn't appear to make
a difference at the moment.

Looking at the BIOS there are several settings that can be tweaked, in
what order should they be adjusted?

At the moment I'm trying to get the system to work on base settings,
hence I'm adjusting the CPU Ratio and the FSB Frequency first. Getting
this to work in a stable manner though is proving difficult.

Did you try a little more CPU voltage?

I'm in the process of putting together a System based around the Soltek
QBIC EQ3702 barebones system coupled with an AMD 2500+ (barton core)
running at 333FSB. The memory is a single stick of 512MB Crucial PC2700
RAM. The Hard Drive is a Samsung SP1213N 120GB ATA100 drive configured
and detected as the primary device on IDE channel #1 and the CD-RW/DVD
is a MSI X52P 52x speed drive detected and configured as the secondary
on IDE channel #2.

I'm having a couple of problems with this at the moment.

1# CPU not Recognised
First is the CPU isn't being recognised as the correct CPU. Now I know
that I can change these settings in the BIOS, however if I go into the
BIOS to change the CPU Ratio and FSB Frequency to the correct settings
and then reboot, well......

....All that happens is that the machine continually reboots without
even displaying the BIOS screen. The cycle is as follows, machine is
switched on, the CPU fan powers up to full speed, then it powers down to
low speed, then the machine reboots at which point the cycle starts again.

2# Machine reboots during Windows XP Setup
If I configure the BIOS defaults after clearing the CMOS RAM, I can boot
the machine up and go into the BIOS to look at things. Everything
appears to work OK. I can even boot off of a CD, have booted KNOPPIX
successfully, however when I boot of the Windows XP CD it usually copies
of all of the files into memory and just before the graphical stage part
of the installation kicks in it reboots!!!!!

Any ideas out there?

I've already looked at the Soltek website for further
documentation/help. The BIOS has been already updated to F1.9L and
Checking the supported processors datasheet indicates that the 2500+
Athlon has been tested OK with a CPU Ratio of 11 and a FSB Frequency of
166, so this should work on my system ;-(

Thanks,

Jason
