Ed, Thanks. Guess I am out of luck. The numbers are

3.3v = 18a
5v = 22a
12v = 14a

Would 5900XT work?

A month ago I asked a question to this group regarding the
best value GeForce card and was told it'd be 6600GT (NV43).
Since then I've been waiting for a good price of this card
until I came across this thread and realized that power
supply could be a problem for me. My machine is a Dell
Dimension 4500 (P4 2.4GHz with 512MB memory). According to
Dell web site, the power supply is 250W. Is 6600GT too
much of a stretch for me? How about 5900XT (NV35)?

When you take the case off, can you see the ratings on the side of

the power
supply? What are the amps for 12v, 5v, and 3.3v, and does it say what

the
amps are for 5 + 3.3v?

For instance, a _good_ 300w might be
3.3v = 28a
5v = 30a
12v = 15a

whereas a cheap one might be
3.3v = 20a
5v = 25a
12v = 12a
