Weird problem that the wifes PC just started having...

- This happens whether the system has been off for twelve hours or
running for twelve hours (cold or hot)
- MSI K7T Turbo v3.0 with raid mainboard
- Mid grade power supply
- Matrox G550 video card driving two monitors
- 1 Gig of PC133 SDRam (2 x 512Meg)
- Two 40Gig Seagate hard drives on the RAID controller
- CDRW and DVDRom
- AMD XP2000+ processor

A "mid grade" power supply would be something like Enermax, Topower,
Enlight, or anything by Sirtec (incl. Vantec, Thermaltake). Bottom
grade would include any of the brands from Leadman (incl. Powmax,
Robanton, Raidmax) or Deer (incl. Allied, Codegen, L&C, Mercury,
Foxconn). Top grade would include Antec TruePower (or Channel Well
ADP or ASP series), HEC/Heroichi, and FSP (Fortron, Powerman, Sparkle,
Trend, Aopen), but since if your motherboard has only the 20-pin power
connector, you can also use older models available on the surplus
market that sell under brands like Delta, Astec, NMB, and Lite-On.

I think the power supply is marginal and is reaching full voltage too
late for the load, especially since it's running 4 disk drives. Any
good 300W power supply should be sufficient for your system, but not
every supply rated for 300W can put out 300W.
