I'm trying to fix a friends pc and he is getting the following error:

"Memory access violation in module kernel32 @ 5692:14766882" (NB: This
number appears to be different everytime the pc starts!)

What software (or virus?) was installed immediately previous to the
error
starting on the computer?

Try holding F8 during the bios and select the logged boot option (or
the confirm
each step option) for some possible clues.

He has now told me he had the "bugbear" virus, and obtained removal tools
from the net (Norton, etc) and thought he had removed the virus, then this
problem started.
