I picked up a stack of Compaq SFF computers at an auction a few months ago.
AFAIK, the Socket 370 ones were all built with nVidia integrated graphics on the
motherboard. I have one which does not display anything thru its integrated
vide connector, but DOES display whatever when a PCI graphics card is installed.
Like nearly all nVidia graphics chips, the one on the SFF motherboard runs
pretty hot and is therefore susceptible to burning out from excessive heat,
especially if the system cooling is inadequate due to dust bunnies and the like.

The system has a small integrated speaker mounted on the motherboard.

You might try the PCI graphics card in different slots. Make sure the PCI
graphics card is properly seated in its slot.

If you have access to a hardware Power On Self Test (POST) card, that would tell
you something about why the system is not booting properly. Also, check the
memory to make sure that it is within spec, altho it seems to be OK from the
symptoms you've given. (The system went far enough in the startup to exercise
the floppy diskette drive, right?)

These are nice little systems. I've resold several of them to people who need a
computer that does not take up a lot of space. They also make great Linux
boxes, and if someone wanted to set up a Linux firewall/router, the could do
worse than one of these boxes... Ben Myers

systems have a speaker or beeper?

Instead of breaking it up for spares, I'd like to keep this neat little
system, if only I could get it working.

Can anybody help me in my quest?
