Check the drive manufacturers site and see if they have a drive overlay
that will take care of this for you.

& learn... Go into your BIOS and study it carefully before you buy a
bigger hard drive, and it could save a lot of trouble.

- Correct an issue with determining which Matrox video card is inserted.

the wrong video card was identified, preventing some cards which had a
bad
video
option ROM from functioning properly.

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to
that
directory. The file that is downloaded is an executable with a
filename
based
on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded SP17310 file to
unpack
the ROM image files. Follow the on screen instructions and you will be
prompted
to insert a formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the SoftPaq file
downloaded in step 2.

5. Keeping the newly created diskette in the A: drive, cycle system power
to
boot from the ROMPaq diskette.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions to select the 08/22/99 Compaq System
ROM or
the Language Module option and upgrade the firmware.
