try checking your master/slave setting on HD and cd-rom! if you can put it
on cable select.

yes, but only in windows or during the install. it has yet to power
off whilst in the bios

What about while setting at a POST error from not having anything but the
video card?

Either way, my solutions would likely revolve around either
triple-checking
all the BIOS settings, or calling a priest.
