Dunno. The part numbers for the systemboards in the 5600i and 5610 are
different. There's a possibility the 1394 chips are not the same.

I just purchased a 5610 at a tag sale for 40 bucks.Wiped the drive and
installed winxp.Everything works just fine except for the on board
firewire.It is an Adaptec AIC 5800
chip.I've searched for hours and found nothing that works.

any compliant ieee1394 should work natively,it does not though.I had a

one 700mhz chip around,that worked.I had an extra 60 gig drive,that
worked.This would be an excellent spare to play with for my digital
