OK, so I'm building a new system, and I've run into a few problems. I had
all of the following up and running:

- Tsunami Sagittarius ATX window case & 350W PSU
- ECS K7S5A Pro mainboard
- AMD Athlon 2600XP CPU (older 266 FSB version)
- ThermalTake Volcano 11 Xaser Edition CPU heatsink & fan
- Western Digital 80Gb 7200rpm 8MB Cache hard drive
- 2 x 256MB PC133 Kingston SD-RAM (I will buy 2 x 512MB DDR-RAM later)
- nVidia GeForce4 Ti4200 64MB graphics card
- Sony 1.44MB Floppy Drive
- LG DVD-ROM GDR-8161B 16x48
- LG CD-RW W8520B 52x24x52

I had set the boot sequence (when I first posted the system) to Floppy --
CDROM -- IDE-0, and it had booted up perfectly every time. I had installed
Windows XP Pro, Office XP Pro, and also the drivers for the motherboard,
graphics card and sound card. I wanted to create a disk image, so I also
installed Norton Ghost. All seemed to be perfectly fine. I had re-started
the system several times without any problems.

I then decided to install my Netgear FA311 Network Interface Card, so I
added that, and started up the system. Once XP Pro had loaded, it found the
new hardware, but the Floppy Drive didn't seem to work to install the
driver. I figured out that I had been using the wrong connector on the
cable, so I shut down and changed the Floppy Drive to the twisted connector
as it should be done. I restarted the system and it gave the following
message: 'Secondary Master - ATAPI Incompatible, Secondary Slave - ATAPI
Incompatible' - Press F1 To Resume'. I wasn't sure what this was, so I
pressed F1 and XP Pro loaded up OK, but without the D and E drives. The A
drive was now fine, and I loaded the drivers for the Netgear FA311.

Apart from the D and E drives not loading up, I was happy with my setup, so
I loaded up Norton Ghost and started to create the disk image, setting it to
write to a CDRW (which I expected would load up properly this time). It
asked me to restart so it could continue the process.

On starting up again, I got the same message as before, and after pressing
F1 it continued to the boot sequence. It failed to boot from the Floppy and
the CDROM (as expected), and the 'OK' came up from the IDE-0. It then comes
up with 'Boot Disk Error', and wants me to insert a Floppy to boot from.

I'm lost to what I can do. Can anyone help? I won't mind re-installing
Windows XP Pro all over again, but I'm more concerned about the 'ATAPI
Incompatible' messages. The connectors are all in fine for all the devices,
so that isn't the problem.
