I have one of those drives, and S.M.A.R.T. reports a nominal speed of
5980rpm.

I think it's a relatively new thing with Seagate for their "Desktop" and
"BarraCuda" models. BUT many, many years ago the reviewer of a then-new
model of Rolls-Royce car lamented that they had not published a
horsepower rating, and when he had called or written to ask, the reply
was: "Adequate."
