Default Compaq Evo Desktop memory problem

How about also explaining which model of Evo this one is. Different models
often have different requirements for the type of memory. A circa 2002 computer
is too old to use DDR2. KTC-D320/128 is supposed to be non-parity DDR, PC2700
speed... Ben Myers

A friend has a Compaq Evo desktop computer (circa 2002) that won't boot up.
It gives the
beep sequence, 1 short, 2 long and also the Num-Lock LED blinks
continuously. According to the documentation for this particular computer,
these symptoms indicate it's probably something to do with mixing ECC with
non-ECC memory.

The memory he has on board is from Kingston - KTC-D320/128 - and is in both
memory slots. Question 1 is - is this DDR or DDR2 memory and question 2
is - ECC or non-ECC?

Also, has anyone else experienced this type of problem with this type of
computer (and does HP have something to do with the Compaq Evo's)?

Thanks for any help here.
