Default Installing Second O/S

The D: partition is Acer's backup drive/partition. When you use eRecovery
to create a image for backup in case of system failure, that is where it is
put. If you put Linux there your drive format will not be compatible.

In addition, you will want to go to support.Microsoft.com and search on
"dual boot" to obtain instructions on how to set up a multi-boot system.

The rest is up to you.

TravelMate 8100 with XP Pro

I have a 100 Gb. HD split into C: and D: drives. I only use the D: drive for
backup purposes but would be interested in turning this system into
dual-boot with Linux.

Has anybody any experience with this .. are there drawbacks ... or ...
