install them elsewhere, copy over the old data...

AC Adapter question
ACK. The D610 apparently shipped with both 60W and 90W bricks, semi-randomly.
My 820s, with medium-to-high-end CPUs and graphics, run fine on 60W adapters,
but charge slowly, even if they came...

Dell diagnostics passed on both machines. No USBs attached except the factory
mouse and kb. One machine does have PS/2 ports, but the only old spare kb
around failed (too slow?). XP SP3 on both...

OK, I've seen it twice now, once on a year-old Vostro 400 desktop, once on a
brand-new 220S mini.
Very intermittently, the machine will hang for 30 seconds to five minutes just
after the Dell...

I'm dismayed to learn of the "backwards" airflow in the 4700. I've had my own
