See the problem is humans have a limited and short life span and most of us
don't think playing with junk forever is worth it.

Toshibas, HPs, and Gateways make more dollar sense these days than DELLs.
During thanksgiving sales there was a fully loaded Gateway (2gb memory, Core
2 Duo high end processor, big HD etc.) for $699,...

Don't expect any better DELL deals

There's not going to be any better deals than what you see out there now
until well into the latter part of 1st Q next year, some time after Vista

That I agree, question is given the two scenarios I gave, i.e. to have 1gb
or 1gb + 256k, with the stated reduced performance for not having a matched
pair, what difference does it make in these two...

Hi, D3000 came with two 256k sticks, I now want to add one 1gb stick. My
question: should I just have 1gb stick in one bank and leave the other bank
empty, OR would it be ok to have one 256k stick in...
