CD RW Slow
 

Can anyone tell me why both my CD Rom and CDRW are both running very slowly?

They both take ages to start reading a disk and if I run a performance test
they score really low

Both drives are on the same bus but worked well previously, as I recently
reformatted my hard drive I think the problem may have started from there

Did you check your IDE controller DMA settings after reinstalling your OS?
Could be they're running in PIO mode.
