Athlon 64 Shuttle XPC reviewed; P4 hammered again!

They just reviewed a version of the Shuttle XPC
small formfactor computer for Athlon 64 and the
benchmarks tell the story of the Athlon 64's
dominance. Winstone: Athlon 64 leads. Games,
Athlon 64 leads in majority. Encoding, Athlon 64
leads in half. In the cases where Athlon 64 did
not lead, they included an FX-51 in the
benchmarks and it wiped the floor with the Intel
3.2Ghz HT on Intel chipset computer.

It seems the single area where the Athlon 64
3200 is weak is memory transfer due to the
single channel controller but the dual channel
FX-51 easily remedies that and puts the P4
in its place.

The P4 is dead, long live the Athlon 64 and FX.

Dead? oh you mean Intel will only sell 34 Million P4 chips instead of 35
million in 2004? ;p

What a horrible demise... poor Intel :)

bye, Rick
