Compatible Toshiba Internal drive?
 

I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop which has a Toshiba SD-2612 internal
DVD drive which has stopped working. Are there any cheaper alternatives
to buying a new drive (other than second-hand)? i.e. do cheaper
"compatible" drives exist?

Notebooks are usually quite fussy about what's put in them. You could try
EBay. Or if you're not using it when travelling, consider an external drive
(USB/Firewire)
