Making a bootable dvd
I have a 2.7gb iso file which I want to burn to a dvd and make that dvd bootable. I gather doing a botable dvd is different from a bootable cd, so any guidance would be appreciated. What software, would Nero do it ok, or do I need something else, etc, etc? The file is aready an iso file with a boot folder included Thanks |

Hello smh,
thanks for your replies, but when I use Nero to burn it or even burn it as an iso using PowerIso it doesn't boot. My system does not recognise the dvd as a bootable device, even tho I have cdrom in BIOS as bootable. Thanks . -------------------------------------- Mike Richter, were you born with "Scam Artist" emblazoned on your face? -------------------------------------- Bob Administrator wrote: I have a 2.7gb iso file which I want to burn to a dvd and make that dvd bootable. The bootable stuff is in the .iso file as it would have to be. Dave Cohen |

If the .iso is that of Windows program, you don't want to make it bootable because 'bootable' runs in DOS. What kind of program is in the .iso? Perhaps you are thinking of Auto Run? Making a bootable dvd
Hello smh,
hey, no problem about misunderstanding me, your'e not the only one, lol. The iso is a windows app/program which I want to install on a free partition, and is about 2.3Gb in size. It has a boot folder included in the iso plus others when I view it in PowerIso. Thanks . -------------------------------------- Mike Richter, were you born with "Scam Artist" emblazoned on your face? -------------------------------------- Bob Administrator wrote: Hello smh, thanks for your replies, but when I use Nero to burn it or even burn it as an iso using PowerIso it doesn't boot. Making a bootable dvd
Hello smh,
When I load the said iso file into PowerIso, the option to add boot in formation is greyed out, so I assume that the iso already has boot information , because it has a boot folder, but then I am not sure if boot info is in that folder, as I don't know what boot info is required. Sorry for the confusion Thanks .
