1200 xl 109 notebook and netgear wg111 wifi adapter

Good afternoon
I own an old Compaq Presario 1200-XL 109 Notebook since
2000. I intend to buy a Netgear WG111 adapter in order to
hane a link with another PC already fitted with a modern
Wifi terminal.
the 1200 XL-109 is operating under Windows 98SE.
Has anyone already tested a WG111 on a 1200 XL-109
notebook ????
Your opinion would be welcome !!
Thanks
michel

Specs on the Netgear only list USB 2.0 compatibility. The USB on the old
Compaq ( I had a 12XL-300) are 1.0. It might or might not work. If it does,
you'll get Wireless b speed likeky, not g.

You're better off with a PCMCIA adapter, and an older one for which
there are both a driver and utility program for Windows 98. This may
limit you to 802.11b, but this is better than nothing... Ben Myers
