Compaq 5140 complete restore
 

I have a 5140 that I used complete restore on. Back to original. However
not paying attention it did it's magic and now it is ask ing for the W98 key
number and in several moves I lost it. Is there any way to recover it (the
W98 key number) from the restore disk?

if you can boot the system in safe mode . you can install and run
belarc advisor . it will list the key # along with other info on your
system . belarc advisor is available at belarc.com .
