In any case it lights a fire under intel's butt and that's a good thing.
AMD hasn't taken a good chunk of market share from intel in quite a
while. At one point I think they had take 20% or more from intel but
then they lost it again. Intel has a way of getting serious once they
feel the heat. Not always successful though. Look no further than ARM.

I wish or hope it would be a real competition... AMD was losing and
cheating all the time, except in graphics which AMD acquired from ATI. :)

Well, we have AMD to thank for our current 64bit-ness. That wasn't
intel's doing. They wanted to stick us with Itanium. AMD has done great
work and kept intel honest. I'd really like to see them obtain and hold
on to a good percentage of the processor space to ensure competition.

I didn't care too much for their whole PR rating systemm though if
that's what you are referring to. Although I have to say that way back
when I had the first PowerMac dual 2 GHz G5, I switched to an AMD
specifically to run After Effects and AMD did so exceedingly well.
Better than that dual core G5 and at much lower cost.

I like what they are doing with Vulkan as well. If we can get a great
graphics driver, fully open source out of this that would be quite nice.

Let's first wait for the products to materialize and be publicly
available. Then there would be a lot of benchmarks on the real things. :)

There is no need to attempt to troll this group as you just tried. Leave

it elsewhere. And yes, I'll wait see some real world benchmarks.

AMD Ryzen is still an interesting, new CPU series that might interest
hardware people.
