What is inside that small cylinder in a laptop adapter?
 
What is inside that cylinder thing that is at the end of a AC adapter of a laptop or notebook?
Is it like a load matching thing? Current limiter?

Could be a choke (balun? grins), to reduce, possible, interference, or
signal reflection ( [ / ] refraction).
