More RAM?
 

Would upping the RAM on my GW 400 SP Plus notebook
from 512mb to 1024mb make a noticeable difference? It's a
WinXP system with XP Office Pro and is often used for
Powerpoint presentations. It doesn't seem as quick as
my other two Win98 machines with 384 mb RAM.

Not unless you are routinely working with files larger than 300MB.
