Could someone tell me the difference between burning a UDF and a ISO/UDF DVD?

I tried to burn a DVD and had one file over 2 gigs. The rest were
under 2 gigs. The program said I had to burn in a UDF format.
I've burned in UDF before but never noticed the UDF/ISO option.

What is the difference and when would you use one over the other?
I looked in the Help file but, as you may guess it was no help.

Thanks
RC
