PRESARIO 12XL125 FAN
PRESARIO MODEL 12XL125
As soon as you turn on the laptop computer does the fan start running or does it have to reach a certain temperature inside before it turns on? Bob |
It's probably governed by a temp sensor on the processor socket. Might not
turn on til the processor reaches a threshold temp. My 12XL 300 was that way. HH "chicago" wrote in message news:yZVDc.4624$Qj6.800@fed1read05... I am looking at this computer to purchase and was testing everything
out....I haven't used a laptop for several years and was wondering about the fan not coming on...I noticed this morning that the fan did run on start up and continued to run for about an hour while watching a DVD movie...then sometime after the fan shut down. I am testing the discharge rate of the battery. No applications are running except the screen and monitor for the battery...The fan is not running...The case is a little warm, but not HOT....So I suppose I will watch and see what happens. This computer comes with 64mb of memory which if I buy it "dirt cheap", I will probably upgrade the memory to 192 mb...Also, the hard drive is the basic 6.0Gb which is divided up "C" and "D" in which the system files uses about 1Gb. I will probably use this computer for digital operations in the Amateur radio bands, GPS on trips, plus wordprocessing and email....Just basic applications... Thanks for your reply Bob Adams "HH" wrote in message .. . It's probably governed by a temp sensor on the processor socket. Might not turn on til the processor reaches a threshold temp.
