Compaq Proliant DL380 by
[email protected]
Someone left a Compaq Proliant DL380 with me.
I am trying to setup win2k on it.
Somebody suggested I get cp005292 on a floppy and press F6 when win2k
starts and then press 'S', insert the floppy and rest will get done
automatically.
It did not.

Windows server 2003 licencing by
Nobody
We have a LAN with 10 servers and 30 users/workstations.
The workstations are all running legal copies of XP, but the former IT
guy put pirated copies of Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition on
the servers. I have been given the task of making us legal.
Given the above, what would be the...

DLT7000 and a Proliant 5000 by
Robert Bates
I installed a DLT7000 tape drive in my PL5000 by connecting it to the second
50 pin SCSI connector with a 50 to 68 pin adapter in the cd/floppy bay.
When booting, it doesn't see the tape drive and it also doesn't show up on
the Compaq/HP tape drive diagnostics. The SCSI cd drive does. This was...

Can you add a Integrated Management LCD to a 1200? by
.
I've just acquired a Proliant 1200R server, and I've noticed the little
blanking plate on the front panel that certainly looks like it's meant
to take a Integrated Management Display, a la the Proliant 7000. This
machine is a Pentium II (266MHz) model and I was wondering, will the
1200 accept an...

Will
Where is the Windows XP / Windows 2003 driver for the Compaq 64 Bit Fibre
Channel Adapter, Compaq spare part 161290-001 and option part 120186-b21?
If no Windows XP driver exists, what recent vintage Compaq FCA has Windows
XP support and also works with the 4100 series Compaq Fibre Channel...

Drives Not Autostarting in a 4214R by
CHANGE USERNAME TO westes
We have a fair number of Compaq 4214R U2 hotswap drive cases. The behavior
I normally see is that when you insert a hotswap drive into one of these
cases, it autorotates, and at that point it can then be seen on the SCSI bus
by the attached host computer.
On one 4214R I just installed, when I...

Compaq Part Numbers by
Jeffrey Alsip
Is there some way to use the Compaq web site to search for the specs of
a sorted item using the xxxxxx.xxx Compaq part number? If not is there
a list that can be accessed elsewhere?
For instance, if I have two memory sticks with the number 228460-001,
how would I find out their size and FSB speed...

Anyone has a SmartStart 6.40 CD to laying around? by

Errm... For a ML530 G1, you need Smart Start 5.50, which you can still
download.
I know that. But that doesn't help me.
I don't see why that should not recognise an SA6400

I have a Proliant 2000 running Win XP. I want to load Linux 7 or 9 or

Bar graph display on IMD for Proliants by
.
I remember somewhere that there is a utility which talks to the IMD on
machines like the 5500, 7000, and so on which gives you a bar graph
display of CPU load, memory used, and a couple of other configurable
things. I also remember that it's strictly a Win2K or Win Server 2003
utility. I've had a...

Compaq Proliant 800 PPro sever set up by

I inherited a Compaq Proliant 800 Pentium Pro server. Initially it came

power supply on it died and I had to transfer the drive to another
machine while I...

Was also given two, new in-box IMD LCD displays. Could not figure out

called a Y-Cable. Splits the ribbon cable down to two smaller
connectors. Those connectors I assume connect to the...
