Dual Cores Showing as Singles by
[email protected]
When you hit ctrl-alt-del and click the "performance" tab do you see
one or
two graphs?
We have several blades that have two dual core processors on each of
them. Two of them seem to be working properly and will show us all
four graphs, all the others will only show two. We have tried
swapping...

Is there any way on an x86 system that a working ps2 keyboard/mouse can be
disabled by writing data to the device?
Thanks.

price difference 939/AM2 by
DPH
I've been out of the loop for a while since I built my system more than two
years ago. It's an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe with an AMD 3500+ Winchester. I was
thinking of upgrading my processor and noticed the AM2 chips are so much
cheaper than 939 based chips. I had been looking at 4800+ X2 for the...

Mplayer for Linux by
Rick1
I tried to install latest rpm of mplayer 1.0pre5.2.
I got "failed dependencies 2:1.0pre5 needed".
I downloaded 1.0pre5, compiled and installed it(it works fine except quicktime video's have no sound). I then tried to install rpm again-got same messages.
Did I miss something?

Linux fails to boot when upgrading memory to 4GB by
Sudsy
I've seen clues on newsgroups in other languages but I can't read the
solutions...
I've got an Asus M2A-VM HDMI motherboard with an AMD64X2 5600+
installed.
It was initially provisioned with 2GB of memory and twin 250GB SATA-2
drives.
When I installed another two sticks of PC2-5300 (DDR2 667 MHz)...

flash bios reprogramming exploits by
Nutso OpenBSD User Dave
I am experiencing problems with my AM2 AMD64 computer that
make me wonder whether my computer's flash bios has been
(multiply) reprogrammed by an X-windows exploit.
2 Questions:
1) Has anyone else had hardware problems which might be
caused by such an exploit?
2) Are there any motherboards...

I've fixed a few bugs, added a log file, cleaned up the output and made
some changes to the options parser so that it accepts both - and --

Please give this version a try and let me know how well it works for you.
