Intel-x86 models TLB-information by
Elcaro Nosille
Does anyone know where I can find information about the sizes and
associativity of the TLBs built into different Intel x86-CPUs? The
information I could get the CPUID function 2 according to "Intel
Application Note 485, Sept 2006" does give only a few diffent

Enhanced Intel SpeedStep in Pentium 4 630 support in OS ?? by
Ashish
Hi,
I'm having an Intel Pentium 4 630 CPU and running Linux (AMD64) and
FreeBSD (AMD64) OS. Does anybody know how to scale clock frequency of
this CPU, using EIST, not using Pentium 4 Clock Modulation (which is
available in the Pentium 4s with no EIST capability). Or could anybody
point me to Intel...

D975XBX Boot Device Priority by
Fidelis K
Even when I selected "Hard Disk Drive" as "Boot Device Priority", the BIOS
shows "CD/DVD-ROM" above "Hard Disk Drive" in the "Boot Device Priority"
section. Why is that? I'm using the latest BIOS version.

Why are prices going up? by
Clark
Anyone know why prices on processors seem to be going up? They came down
for a while, but seem to have reversed in the last couple of weeks. Any
idea when they may be coming back down-maybe after Christmas?
Thanks,
Clark

I heard that the 80286 had 20 bits in for each address in memory but an

Bad Axe PCI-e Power Connector by
Fidelis K
My Intel Bad Axe motherboard has an onboard 12v 1x4 PCI-e power connector,
which powers PCI-e cards. I, of course, connected a power cable to it. Now,
my X1900GT card has a 2x3 PCI-e power connector. Should I also connect a
power cable to it???

on board raid controller by

Hello,
I have been buying servers with Adaptec and LSI RAID cards for years.
These are real RAID cards, no use of the host CPU, great preformance,
etc. I need to build a server that supports mirroring. My
Pointy-Haired Boss doesn't want to spend the money on a real server.
He wants me to buy a...
