Skybuck Flying
Hello,
I booted with the /sos switch enabled this caused the USB Keyboard and USB
Mouse both from logitech to stop responding in Windows XP 64 Bit Pro.
(Logitech UltraX Keyboard and Logitech Click! Mouse)
Fortunately I had a USB to PS/2 convertor connector.
As soon as I plugged the keyboard in...

*Good MB & Chip for a fast CAD machine by
Dennis Lubots
I'm reseaching parts for a good CAD PC. I would be running Autocad 2008,
SolidWorks 2008, and Autocad Mechanical. At least (2) 20" monitors. I would
start with one of the Core 2 processors. I'm not a gamer. I don't want to
spend a lot of money on uneeded speed/capability. Any ideas, opinions...

*NEW* A7N8X Deluxe: What does it take to get it working? by
John Q Public
A little over a week ago, I received a version 2.0 A7N8X Deluxe. It
replaced the A7M266 that was running rock solid for the 3+ years that
I had it. All other componets in my system remained unchanged, except
for the changing of the motherboard.
I have yet to get this !@#$% board running without...

+5 voltage error on P4B533 on first bootup by
[email protected]
I've been using a P4B533 for two years and in the morning when I
first turn on the PC I get an error message on boot up. In the Power
section of the BIOS the +5 vcore voltage is in red, about 5.42 or
higher. After a few boot up attempts the voltage drops within range
and I can start Windows XP.
Is...

+P4C800-E and an Antec 1080 case by
Bob
I'm about to install a P4C800-E in an Antec 1080 case. The case that I
bought (Used) has the two front case fans installed. These two fans have a
standard 4 pin header for power but also have a yellow wire. I'm assuming
that the yellow wire is for temp. sensing? Where does this wire go to?

Anyone notice that the chipset fan on the A8N-SLI Deluxe is freaking loud?
Have most of you kept it? Or changed it?

- about P4R800-VM... by
SS-20
This Asus board with ATI-chipset doesn't like Hyper-Z dual channel memory
from Kingston - or maybe just dual channel memory in general. I just spent a
week finding that out.

- Latest Plextor DVD not compatible with A8N-SLI Deluxe... need opinions. by
Jon J. Yeager
I just bought a new system... it included the A8N-SLI Deluxe as a mainboard,
and the CD/DVD is the Plextor PX-716SA (SATA). I noticed the DVD kept
freezing the OS.
I call Plextor Support and am told that the A8N-SLI Deluxe and PX-716SA are
simply incompatible. Guess I should have looked this up...

- Looking for replacement A8N-SLI Deluxe chipset fan... recommendations? by
Richard Hayden
When I first bought my A8N-SLI Deluxe (rev.2), the first thing I noticed was
the incredibly loud chipset fan. It was louder than the CPU fan and any of
the 3 hard drives I have running. But I kept putting off replacing it.
Now, bios warns me on boot-up that said fan is not running as proper...

- Sick and tired of waiting for non-SLI nforce4 board... by
Jon J. Yeager
Sorry if this has been asked a million times, but...
The A8N-SLI is out in Deluxe and non-Deluxe formats. The A8N-E, however, was
supposed to be the non-SLI alternative, and keeps getting postponed...
I'm loyal to Asus but not to the point of overkill by purchasing the SLI
Deluxe, which happens...

- Which do you recommend : A8N-SLI or A8N-E? by

Other than the price advantage, is there any reason why someone would opt
for the A8N-E over the A8N-SLI for typical home and semi-pro usage?

-5V and P4PE by
Lars-Erik Østerud
I need a new PSU for my system. But the new PSUs have a warning about
ISA not supported due to lack of a -5V rail on newer standard PSUs.
How will this affect a Asus P4PE mainboard?
Will it work as normal?
Will it suffer damage?
What will not work (just add-in ISA cards?)?
