an Athlon 900MHZ CPU. It will not boot! On power-up, there is no video, but
the hard drive and CD-ROM drive go through their power on sequence and halt.
I removed both IDE cables, floppy cable, and all cards except the AGP...

Applying heatsink compound by
Godzilla Pimp
Clean both surfaces with alcohol. If there is gunk left over from a heatsink
pad, clean it off with acetone first (nail polish remover).

heatsink. This works perfectly every time. I know cuz when I remove a
heatsink I always...

After much experimenting I got it to work with fairly well with Easyburn
and dvd+rw disks. So I went on to try a dvd+r disk.
It seemed to write ok. But Windows doesn't see anything at all on it. The
drive spins and it...

Budget Gamer? by
Godzilla Pimp
My nephew wants one (personally, I'd make the little twerp work for it).
I've built about 15 AMD PCs (overclocked nearly all of them!) but never a
real gamer. What would you recommend for under $1,000 monitor included?
Newegg is my preferred source. I think it would be good if I made him

I currently have an 80 gig pata full of stuff.
I just bought a couple 120gig Sata hd's.
What I wanna do, is simply transfer the data on the Pata, to the Sata.
What will be my easiest solution..??
Note: Once the data is transfered, I'll be removing the pata.

[Maybe OT] Ink Jet by

Does anyone have a favorite place where they buy color and black ink jet
cartridges? Sites like newegg have black but not color.
I have an epson and would prefer to try one of the generic brands, both
color and black.
Thanks.

Video card by
Helpful person
I need to replace the video card in my kids' (11 years old) computer
because the present one does not work properly with some of their
games. The computer is a P4 at 2.4GHz CPU, so it is still OK.
Any recommendations for under $100?
