Dell Battery Recall - Anyone received a new battery yet? by
Jim Howes
Upon reporting a number of batteries of the potentially-exploding kind to Dell
via their battery recall programme, I have an order reference, which said 'allow
up to 20 working days'.
I am now getting very close to 20 working days, and I am now wondering if Dell
have actually shipped any...

Any other 'specify it yourself' systems like Komplett? by
[email protected]
I quite like the Komplett 'customise it yourself' systems at:-
http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/cl.asp?bn=10310
However I'd quite like to compare some others and, in particular,
would like some alternative cases. Can anyone recommend any other
suppliers who offer a similar customisation...

I bought some new components from PC Giant (www.pcgiant.co.uk). The
payment has gone through. I haven't recieved the goods. They haven't

Is PC Giant a safe place to shop?
What should I do next?

purchase being made with my debit card on the 25th August. Checked my
online banking and the funds were definately paid out on the 29th (and why

DVD players with VGA output by
[email protected]
I am beginning to see DVD players with a VGA output on places like
eBuyer.
I assume that these will feed a monitor, without any need for a TV. As
I don't own a TV, this sounds like a good way of avoiding using a PC
to watch the occasional DVD.
But, hard as look, I cannot find any details of the...

Scan - if you are thinking of buying, read this first by
[email protected]
We purchased goods from Scan Computers in Bolton up until the middle of
last year.
We encountered many problems with their goods - remarked tray CPUs that
overheated and 80 pin SCA hard disks that our Scan rep admitted "will
not work in RAID arrays".
Exactly why will grey market 80 pin hard disks...

Hi,
I have just received an order from ebuyer containing, amongst other

External HDD Enclosures by
Paul Hutchings
If I wanted a USB2/FW400 external HDD enclosure and hard drive to go in
it, what would people suggest and where would they suggest I get it from?
I want what everyone wants which is something that's very quiet whilst
doing a decent job of dissipating heat, and I don't want anything
"blingy"...
