Got Win7 64-bit installed on my Inspiron and I have two different IE entries in the Start/All Programs menu. Bog standard IE and IE (64-bit). What's the difference? The BBC website, for example, displays identically in both?

P-ATA HDD Enclosure by Daddy[_3_]
I have a spare 500GB internal P-ATA hard drive that I would like to make into an external USB 2.0 hard drive. I see lots of enclosures advertised for SATA, but very few for P-ATA. Not surprising, I suppose. Any suggestions for a reliable enclosure for a P-ATA drive are gratefully accepted....

XPS 9000 by Ron
Could someone explain why the XPS 9000 is so much larger and heavier than, say the 8100? I understand it has more slots, higher end cpu, and larger power supply. But do those factors account for about 20 pounds more weight and several more inches in the main dimensions? Thanks, Ron

Firewire External HD connection by Robert L. Altic Jr.
Hi All, I am not real familar with firewire, so here goes. I have 2 Western Digital external hard drives. One is attached to my XPS 410 via one of the firewire ports on the back of the computer. When I attach the other drive via firewire cable to the empty port, it is not recognized, so it is...

667 MHz memory? by Ron Hardin
How come there's Vostro 1220's with 800 MHz memory and others with 677 MHz memory? Does it affect execution speed? One more thing to watch out for? The FSB is 1066 MHz (battle of hastings) in both cases. -- On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk.

The Last Word - From Me - On The Win7 Disc by Daddy[_3_]
I think we can agree that I have beaten the life out of this topic, so this is the last you'll hear from me about it. In February, 2010, Dell issued a notice through its technical knowledge base that it will no longer include a Windows 7 disc (or a Drivers and Utilities disc) with its...

It's Here by Daddy[_3_]
Well, my Studio XPS 8100 desktop showed up today...with a Windows 7 disc (among other discs.) Some may recall that after I placed my order, I read in a Dell knowledgebase article that Dell was no longer shipping Windows discs with its computers. That made me /mucho/ unhappy. It may be that...

Discrete vs. integrated graphics by Just me
From a practical standpoint, for someone who will spend most of their time checking email, surfing the web, and writing the occasional Word document, does it matter whether they have a discrete video card or if the graphics are integrated with the motherboard? Does it make a difference if the PC...
