Need your opinions on these systems by
Pen
The second is clearly the faster of the two. However, in my opinion
computers used for work have no business being overclocked. Stability
and accuracy are what is needed for a work computer. These are
awesome gaming machines.

For work, as in business applications? I suggest that you avoid
overclocking, and get an Athlon XP3000+, XP2800+ 333 Barton,
or XP2600+333 system if you want great performance at a very
reasonable price.

When I install the supplied drivers (same version as latest downloadable

Dell laptop password by
Mjec
Hi,
I have a problem. I have a Dell Latatude laptop (fairly old) and I
put on a hard drive password. Suddenly today it won't accept my
password any more.
Can anyone think of why this would happen or how I can fix/bypass it?
I can boot up hdd-free (using boot disks I can get to DOS easily)...

Driver for 3Com 3C995-SX needed by
Jo
If anyone has a driver for a 3Com 3C995-SX Fiber NIC for pretty much
any Windows OS version, I'd be very grateful.
It was 1st on the market in late 2000. None of the drivers for similar
cards on 3COMs FTP or web sites work with this card. 3Com say they
don't support it and refuse to help. There...

Compaq Presario 5000 blown processor? by

Austin,
I'm having the exact same situation on (AMD, 700 MHz), which is also
second-hand, has WinME on it, with no apparent driver conflicts.
To answer your question first -- it doesn't seem that absent floppy
should be a problem, though no CPU fan potentially could cause
overheat damage to CPU,...

Dell Laptop slowing down by
Guy Cooper
Why not just swap the disks? That way you'll establish if it's software or
hardware issue. If the BIOS settings are identical and the performance
doesn't swap along with the disks, then it must be hardware letting you
down. If the disk from the fast one speeds up the slow one, it's...
