Dell Dimension standards question by
Alex Johnson
I'm buying a new computer. It's not my first choice, but Dell has been
selected due to a "gift card" I'd rather not waste. But Dell is hugely
overpriced. I'd like to know if the Dimension 8300 conforms to most
standards...or is it proprietary in some important way?
My past experience with...

PSU guide? by
Adrian
Yes, I seen that one, but after going through their fairly simplified
wizard, it recommended a 300watt PSU for my system. One of my
machines I need the PSU for has a 2.8GHz P4, 2GBs of ECC RAM, two
120GB HDDs, a CD/DVD burner, ATI video card (needing power via a
floppy cable), Audigy sound card, a...

RAM Latency by
Shel
I am planning on a D875PBZ with a P4-2.80C and PC3200 ECC RAM.
Crucial's PC2700 sticks have CL=2.5, but its PC3200 sticks have CL=3.
Is this latency difference significant?

Heh, this is actually a fun thread first thing in the morning.
Tell me about it, I've been researching this for five hours. :-)
From
what I have read you are looking at a 3-4% difference in performance,
only you can decide if the cost justifies the boost.
For that insignificant...

How do they compare speed-wise? by
Evert Meulie esq.
Hi!
Just wondering...
I know a 400 Mhz Pentium III is faster than a 400 Mhz Celeron
processor, but where does the 400 Mhz PXA255 fit in the table?
Is it faster than a Celeron? Faster than a Pentium III?
Are there any comparison tables that include the Xscale processors?
