Duncan
I am at my wits end. I purchased a new i865PERL and installed it in
my older P4 system box with a new 2.4 P4 and two new DDR 333 memory
sticks. On powering up, I get no beeps and no video signal, but cpu
fan turns and diode on the mb lights up. I tried the following to no
avail:

Intel reworking its multiprocessor strategy? by
Yousuf Khan
The Inquirer is rumouring that Intel is quite flustered by the
multiprocessing capacity of Opteron. It's only solution so far is to add
more cache to its Xeons. It may well have to come up with a NUMA chipset of
its own, because all it's got right now are a bunch of Serverworks chipsets
supporting...

Intel D865GBF Mobo by
Randy Broman
I have built a system with an Intel D865GBF motherboard.
I would like to know what vendor PC's use this motherboard
(Dell, Micron, Gateway, etc). Does anyone know either the
answer, or a database where I can look this up?
Thanx!

Intel D875PBZ mobo swap. by
h2so4
Hi,
I'm about to dump an Abit IC7-G mainboard in favour of the Intel version.
I'm not an overclocker and the Abit was a poor choice for me. I'm hoping
that apart from having to re-activate Windows and Office XP I should be able
to achieve the change without a new install of the OS. On my present...

Pentium 2 512 MB limitation ? by
Peter Perlsų
I read this somewhereon the net (old web pages saved to my harddisk):
Pentium II
The Pentium II is a glorified Pentium Pro with MMX extensions. The
Pentium II has a different package than the Pentium Pro. This new
package is called "Slot-1." Officially, Intel claimed technical reasons
for...

Question about Pentium 4 m? by
Richard Ragon
I'm thinking of building a thin client linux box. And I was thinking of
using a mini-itx motherboard made for a Pentium Mobile chip. What are
my options in chips? do they make a Celeron for the Pentium mobile 4?
Thanks

New Laptop - Normal P4 or Centrino? by
Clark
I am looking at new laptops. The ones with built-in WiFi seem to be limited
to 1.7 GHz, which seems to be the limit on the Centrino chips.
My question is, should I go after a faster processor and use a card for
wireless, or accept the slower speed with the convenience of...

D875PBZ + P4 3.0GHz cooling question by
MyndPhlyp
In a 19" high tower, will the CPU fan, a 90mm front cabinet fan and the PSU
fan be enough to keep this puppy cool? Other devices include 2 old 7200 RPM
IDEs, to be eventually replaced by SATAs, and a 64MB graphics card, soon to
be upgraded to some yet unidentified monster.
Or should I consider a...
