AMD and Windows7 Virtualization of XP compatibility mode by
Al Dykes
Windows7 has an XP "compatibility box" included but I am told it
requires a specific flavor of virtualization and the Intel Atom 500
CPU series was named as being compatible.
Will AMD 64-bit chips run XP mode with Windows7?

32-bit Vista with a 64-bit AMD Gateway by
Tim Murray
My neighbor just bought a Gateway T-1631 with an AMD Turion 64x2 chip and it
came with Vista Home Premium 32-bit.
Is this typical of Gateway to match 32-bit Windows with a 64-bit chip?

I have run CPUZ 1.54 64 bit and it says that the processor is running 2
cores and 2 threads. I thought that this was meant to be a 4 core CPU?
I have run CineBench 11 and it says it is 2 core 2 Threads also.
Is this...

Advantages of going XP64 by
Black Shuck
Is there any benefits loading XP 64bit version instead of normal 32bit XP?
It seems driver support is less than complete. I only have 1GB of RAM
in my AMD64 3500+ system, so do not need the extended memory addressing.
Is there any other benefit of a 64bit operating system? or is it snake oil?

Gigabyte GA-K8NSNXP-939 replacement by
Chris
Greets All,
Due to all of the problems I have been having with my Gigabyte
GA-K8NSNXP-939 mobo, I am considering replacing it. It doesn't like a
dual memory configuration with my wallet busting Corsair PC3200XLPRO
memory, unless I relax the timings. Even with manually relaxed
timings, I am...

Peter Tran
Hi,
I've got a Athlon64 3200+ and wanted to know if it would be worth it to
download the WinXP-64 beta release from Microsoft?
1) First question is, does the new OS also require 64-bit drivers for all
my periphs? Will the 32-bit drivers also work?
2) Second question, although the OS will be...
