oki printer grinding noise by tg
Oki C3300 colour laser printer suddenly started making a horrible loud grinding noise when it starts up. I've managed to ascertain it's the magenta roller/cartridge assembly. The grinding sound stops when I take the whole magenta lump out. Do these assemblies sieze up? If so are they...

HP has announced it will be letting go of about 6000 employees over the next year, due to declining sales and revenues. They recently purchased a service business which has grown by almost 100%, helping to keep their income up, but sales on desktop computers and printers are down nearly 25%...

LaserJet 1012 Vertical Fade by John Keiser
Printer works well but has a "slight" faded vertical band about 3 inches from the left margin, about 1/4 inches wide. New cartridge. Doing a "half self test" I can see slight fadeing on the drum at that location. I surmise this means some issue with the laser mirror or lenses. Normal cleaning...

All in one by Paul[_18_]
I need to replace my current all in one printer a HP 6110. Computer is using Windows XP, Pentium 4 #GHZ. I like the HP 6480 with single ink cartridges. The HP 6500 has multi ink cartridges and a separate print head. I have read the reviews but have not seen one in action. It seems that you can...

Lexamark Cartridge No 31 by species8350
Hi, I am thinking of buying an empty no 31. Bearing in mind that the cartridge is empty, would I have any trouble in re-activating it? What is the best method of storing an empty cartridge untill I need it?

Spammers here by Richard Steinfeld[_2_]
Regarding the current spam factory that's almost impossible to filter (the one who'se still working on the "As"); I've learned (in another usenet group) that his service is aware and will end it. So, there's hope. I've also decided to block all posts from gmail accounts due to its being a wild...

problems with Scotchmark and laser printers by rebel
I sometimes use Scotchmark 3M 7883 labels and normally would print these in an HP5L. The last batch showed inadequate image adhesion - if the labels were curved during application, the image would rub off somewhat as the label was smoothed down with a wiping action using a soft cloth. Is this...

Lexmark P915 Ink Levels by [email protected]
I am using a Lexmark P915, just got a refill job at a very reputable store for a #33 cart, however, they were telling me that they cannot reset the ink level calibration on the cart. Is there any free software that will allow me to see the correct ink levels on all Lexmark carts? Thanks.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a/Duplex FAX Printing? by Monica
Is it possible to have my INcoming faxes print on both sides of the paper (duplex printing)? My duplexer is installed. Duplex printing works when printing a doc via the computer when I set it up to do so, but, when I get multiple page faxes (they print automatically when received) I'd like for...

Brother Laser printer: Network or connect via USB? by Ajanta
I have a simple setup: A Mac powerbook with OSX 10.4, a 2Wire modem/router, a Brother 5250DN laser printer. When I connected the printer, I think I had the option of "networking" or connecting via USB. I chose the latter thinking hard connection was the simplest and most reliable option....

Why won't this particular setup print this particular webpage? by [email protected]
"Good morning, Mr. Phelps." (For those of you too young to catch that reference, that was the greeting the disembodied voice on the soon-to-self-destruct mission assignment tape offered to "Mission: Impossible" star Peter Graves at the start of each episode.) Anyway, your mission, should you...

Incredible shrinking cartridges by Walter R.[_2_]
My old HP printer, a deskjet 970, had 41 ml ink cartridges. Very nice. I was about to buy a HP Officejet 6310, when I noticed that the cartridge holds only 11 ml, the color cartridge 7 ml. I can't believe this. I thought office models would have larger cartridges. This is ridiculous! This...

Refilling carts and recognition by anon_private
A friend recently refilled his printer cartridge (Lexmark) but the printer will not print - it seems to want another cart. He noticed that a file Lx-Cats contains files that contain cartID's and maxcartPages. If he changed these would the printer accept the refilled cart? Thanks
