1 Attachment(s) 1.8 Duron vs XP2000 by Rob
I have just bought a XP2400 and was going to stick the XP2000 in our other PC which has a 1.8 Duron in it. Silly question coming up... Which is better, the duron or the athlon? I know the athlon is only running at 1.67Ghz but is it worth swapping them over? Regards Rob

10.20GHz Intel slated for 2005 by Dave
The immediate successor to Prescott after it tops out at 5.20GHz will be the "Tejas" core, also produced on a 90 nanometer process and delivering 5.60GHz using a 1066MHz system bus. That's slated to start appearing towards the end of 2004. The first Nehalem is supposed to appear at 9.60GHz before...

100% CPU Usage Problem by Peter
Often with my older computer running XP Home with a Duron 850 and 512M of PC 133 RAM I slow down to a snail's pace. This is particularly true when I am playing my favorite radio station with Winamp 5.02. I can go to task manager and see it never leave 100% CPU usage. On my newer machine, which runs...

12 Volt ATX power connector question by dorkus.erectus
Both my MSI and Shuttle mobos have a 4-pin socket for the 12V ATX connector from the PSU. My buddy's Asus A7N8X-X does not. What exactly does it power and how does the ASUS do without it? Rick

1400(133) changing multiplier. by Apollo
Hi there, I have replaced an 850 Duron with an Athlon 1400(133), mainly because it was free. I did realise at the time that it would only run at 10.5 x 100 on my Asus A7VI-VM. As this mobo has no multiplier control and is not stable above 103MHz FSB, can I alter the multiplier to 12.5 by...

14x multiplier for T'bird? by Dylan
G'day, As far as I can see, the 1400Mhz 'B' Athlon Thunderbird must have had a 14x multiplier i.e. 14 x 100 = 1400. Assuming this chip is identical to the 'C' (133 MHz FSB) T'birds, except of course for the bridge settings that call for a 14 x multiplier, a 'C' T'bird should be able to do 14 x FSB....
