Phenom 9850 Temperature Control by
Peter van der Goes[_2_]
Please share your solutions. My 9850 is running at 2.7 GHz with CPU voltage
set to 1.175V.
In a well-ventilated case (25C), SpeedFan reports CPU at 54 - 56C with very
little activity (web surfing, email, etc.)
No, I haven't run a full-on stress test for fear of the obvious.
I'm using a...

Is my computer really overheating? Should I drop the CPU Speed down? by
David Mills
I changed my CPU Speed setting in my BIOS from 100/100 to 133/133.
After changing it, I ran that SiSoft Sandra utilty and it said my CPU
speed had increased from 1.0 GHZ to 1.47 GHZ...........!!!! Amazing.
My CPU is an AMD Athlon XP 1100 by the way.
Then, 2 days later, I decided to run it again...

Performance difference on single vs multi core by
[email protected]
I posted this originally on alt.comp.hardware.overclocking.amd
Since there are a number of people over here that know about CPU's
they might be able to enlighten me on what is happening here. I'm not
picking on AMD, I just don't have any Intel's to test it on.
We are seeing some significant...

Starting the A7N8X-E with a Barton 2600 Mobile - Advice needed by
Peregrin
Hi all,
I'm about to turn on my new machine, which will be my first try with a
Mobile Athlon in a Desktop MOBO. Is there a chance I may fry the CPU
before I can get in the bios to adjust the Vcore? The Vcore in the BIOS is
set initially to AUTO. What is that going to be, with a mobile CPU?...

the FSB is 400,...

Central Brain Identifier by
Peter Garbarino
I just wanted to point out an easy way in which to identify various
attributes of your CPU. The app called _Central Brain Identifier_ seems
to be a pretty handy way to get your cpu specs along with the production
code. Just nice to not have to remove your HSF in order to see your
specs. It can...

10.20GHz Intel slated for 2005 by

The immediate successor to Prescott after it tops out at 5.20GHz will be the
"Tejas" core, also produced on a 90 nanometer process and delivering 5.60GHz
using a 1066MHz system bus. That's slated to start appearing towards the end
of 2004.
The first Nehalem is supposed to appear at 9.60GHz before...

I just bought myself a new Digital Thermometer today, and the first thing I

sold.
Since the machine didn't have any hard-disks I just let it load up memtest

My existing PC (socket-A 462-pin cpu with 768 MB SD-RAM) uses about 180
Watts at 240 volts of which about 65 or 70 Watts is to power my CRT.
Printers and scanners would be extra.
