installed it. I installed it from the CD inityially, and that didnt
seem to have any effect, so after restarting I installed the driver
using the windows Hardware detection dialog. However, Windows detected

SB Live Value 5.1 a Bus Hog? by
BJ
Ever since I installed an OEM SB Live Value! 5.1, I noticed my system
boots up much slower + I have to disable UDMA on my hard drive to
eliminate crackles/pops in the sound. I heard that the 5.1 Live is a
"bus hog." Is the slow bootup a result of this? Are the Audigy cards any
better?

Some files in the soundcard software are corrupted and I would like to
know if it would be safe to reinstall the soundcard software over the
existing installation.

I/O Address by
Bjørn Valstrøm
My SB Live Value uses the I/O Addresses D000-D01F.
This seems to work allright with Win XP. But it dosn't function with
DOS 6.2 (I have Win XP, Win Me, DOS 6.2 and Linux on my computer - and
BootMagic!).
My DOS 6.2 programs insist that the I/O Address should be 220. But I
can't change the I/O...

Hi,
I have a weird issue with my SB Live card (the $42 model). I've noticed a
humming sound at times, even with the computer turned off. When I turn up the
volume on the speaker (computer off, mind you) I hear a radio station on top
of the humming sound. The computer is a P3, 933, Asus CUV4x board....

Can anyone tell me how I can disable the sounds that play when the Creative

any noise - easy to disable windows sounds but the creative one puzzles me.
I've got Audigy platinum live.
Thanks
