Putting together an AMD 1.1 Athlon in older case by
B&B Musmon
I upgraded my system and trying to use my old motherboard in an older
system box for a friend. It is a PC chips M810 mother board with an
1.1 Ghz with 670MB of memory, it always treated me well. In fact I
don't even see any performance benefits with my 3200+ 64. . It is an
old CTX case, I am...

barton 2500, sempron 64, athlon 64 by
Chris 159
in terms of everyday normal usage plus the odd bit of video capturing and
occasional games how would the above cpu's compare to each other ?
obviously the athlon 64 would be the best choice but how much difference is
there between the barton and the sempron 64 and also the sempron 64 to the
athlon...

Can someone suggest a machine? Price isn't important, within reason
of course. The...

new fan for TT9 by
rjag
I changed the PSU on my computer and its a lot quieter but the sound of my
TT volcano9 is very loud. the temp has crept up from 43C last year to
around 51C to 52C on idle and god knows under load.

My thoroughbred... is dead by
Alex Crosby
It is an ex-CPU. It has ceased to be. Its life force extinguished at
12.30am this morning, and while valient efforts were made to save it,
including but not limited to asking nicely, I pronounced at 1am.
21 months of overvolting (1.8v) and overclocking (2Ghz to 2.25) appear to
have done for it -...

need help building a water-cooling system by
hukuis
I have been thinking about water cooling this system to make it cool
more efficiently and quietly, and I have a few questions:
1.) Do I really need to buy a pre-built water block, or can I remove
the fan from my heatsink and encase it in a (very well sealed of
course) plexiglass box? I have an...

Best Heatsink-Fan combo for FX-53? by

Have been looking at the Thermalright XP-90 (note the XP-120 does
not fit on the K8N NEO2 Plat that I am *thinking* will be the mobo)
and wonder if:
1. Anyone is using that combo here?
2. If not, WHAT successful COMBO are YOU using?
The XP-90 has good reviews with the Panaflow 92mm and I will...

akasa socket A heatsink won't fit, and doesn't meet specification by
James Hanley
I bought an Akasa AK824 HSF for the AMD XP 3000+. The strange thing
is that the step is almost non-existant, it is the correct length of
10mm, but it is less than 1mm in depth. That is not deep enough to
step over the plastic thing that says "Socket 462". My other socket A
heatsinks (on other...
