Has anyone ran into this?
I recently ran into an issue, forcing me to goto x86 Vista, from x64..
I install the nvidia software and reboot and this is the case..
I've also tried the default vista drivers..
I'm not sure what could be going on, as it was fine in x64 vista (odd
that it has issues...

8800GS 384MB HDMI Card Tested by
First of One[_2_]
http://en.expreview.com/?p=160
Very interesting card, especially with the oddball 192-bit memory interface.
Performs ~30% worse than 8800GT 512MB at high res with AA.
Would be interesting to see how this competes against the HD3850 512MB.
The board vendor calls the 8800GS series the "GF8-era...

Who is SLI best for? by
Tony G
Hi All
Am looking at new motherboards and am interested to know if it is
worth getting a SLI motherboard.
Are they basically good for gaming only or are they benificial for 3D
applications also?
Thinking over getting an Intel chip set over a nVidia chipset.

Complete upgrade (CPU, RAM, MBoard etc.) question by

I'm also a light gamer and would appreciate being able to play games like Dawn

To make it easier to...

monitor for gaming by
Don Moore
Hi, I still use my 11 year old Dell 17" CRT monitor for gaming. I
was thinking about getting a new 22" monitor. If I am gaming at 1180
or 1024 is there any point in getting a bigger monitor? Or am I
wasting my money? Thanks

Difference between Xelo drivers and nVIDIA drivers for GeForce FX5200 card? by
Doc[_2_]
I have an nVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 card that came with a computer I got
off eBay. No problems with the card, but I happened to discover that
the driver CD is damaged. I went to the nVidia site and downloaded XP
drivers for it. But the name on the driver CD is Xelo, not nVIDIA. I
found there is a...

Any Way to Shut Off 2nd GPU on 7950? by
Will
When not using the nVidia 7950 for gameplay, the second GPU on the card just
draws power and gives no benefit. Is there a way to shut it down or at
least minimize its power draw in such cases?

Any Dual GPU Cards for GEForce 8 Series? by
Will
In the GEForce 7 family, the 7950 was an interesting card because it
combined two GPUs connected by SLI directly onto a single card. Is
there a similar product for the GEForce 8 family? Is such a card planned
or announced?

Scrambled Display Vista nVidia by
David P. Greer
I am having a problem with a scrambled display in Vista. Here's what's
happening:
If the computer has been idle long enough for the display to go into
standby mode, once it is reawakened, everything seems normal. That is,
until you do something that requires UAC, or a 3D game. When the UAC...

I have a 3d (edimensional) system for my computer. I am using an FX 5500

after several system crashes later decided I wanted to reinstall my 3d for
gaming. I am using driver 162.50 forceware and 162.50 stereo. I can't...

6200 LE Temperature by
JB
I just installed a 6200LE and Rivatune 2.06 (latest versions I could find)
says that it has no data for my drivers and I need to update Rivatune.
Anyone know of a later version?
Ten minutes into my game Rivatune claims the core temperature is 100 C. Is
that normal for this card?
The heatsink...

Anybody been to AvP-R movie yet ? by
Skybuck Flying
I just saw the first 5 minutes of AvP-R.
Seems very scary. It's not playing near a local scenema near me (?)
Anyway the soundtrack seems to be pretty cool and suiting.
I wonder if the scenema's made a major mistake.
Because if the movie is as good as the soundtrack, then WOW.

PNY Verto 7900GS runs like **** through a funnel by
[email protected]
Okay, that's an exaggeration, but I'm VERY disappointed in the
performance of my recent modestly priced upgrade. I went from an Abit
Socket A system to an Asus Socket 939 A8N-SLI with PNY Verto 7900GS
video because I wanted to play LAST YEARS games, let alone the latest,
with decent speed at 1280 X...
