Metspitzer
I have one of these that uses the old com port type connector.
http://www.amazon.com/Left-handed-ergonomic-joystick-rotational-handle/dp/B000WYG4XG
Is there a connector that will convert this to USB? Plus I am not
able to tell what type connector this one at Amazon uses. (If it is
USB, I may...

new video card, or new pc? by
Trevor Smithson
I'm looking at getting back into pc gaming and would like some advice from those who've kept up.
Have a system with an AMD X2, 2GHz PC with 4GB of RAM. Can do everything I want it to do with ease
except play advanced games--the video card is an HD2400 and that would be completely hopeless. If...

Quick Processor/OS question by
Matt[_15_]
If I want to just upgrade the CPU in my system would I have to reinstall the
OS (Win7 64).. I'm thinking the answer is no, but I've never just switched
out a CPU (well other than replacing a defective one once), I've always
done CPU&Mobo combo upgrades.

Stahl SS by
Flasherly[_2_]
Got my soldering station today. Model STSSVT. Guess the VT stand for
why they charged me $17 for their product. Variable Temperature
ranging settings from 0-40watts. About beat up my old Weller Orange
stick, pretty bad, and figured I'd give Stahl a try between maybe
picking a 20-ish watt Blue...

OT sort of, but HUGO! by
ToolPackinMama
I saw the movie HUGO last night, and it was an absolutely delightful
film experience.
It's being hailed as a "masterpiece" and that kind of hype IMHO isn't
deserved, but it is a richly enjoyable entertainment, and I believe
people who frequent this NG would particularly appreciate it.
It is...

How old is too old? by
ToolPackinMama
I decided to start telling my friends that some computers are just TOO
OLD for me to fix.
Not that they can't be fixed. Just that I can't be bothered.
I chose five years as a cut-off date, but I am thinking of making it
four years.
I might as well mention the incident that sparked this...

LED power requirement. by

I have one of these cases:

It has two LEDs behind the from cover that are not connected. The
plug has 2 wires, Black and Red with a mall connector similar to a

get the LEDs to light but I have no idea what...

The Monitor Inch Lie... by
Skybuck Flying[_7_]
Hello,
Monitor manufacturers like to publish the size of their monitors in inches.
This is known as the diagonal line.
However I could sell you a monitor which has 0.00001 inch width and 24 inch
height or a monitor which is 24 inch width and 0.00001 inch height.
Both of these foolish monitors...

Why don't I need More Memory? by
Red Cloud
My system is old DDR memory computer. I got 512M DDR 400hz. I don't
know if I need more memory or not. My simple question why do I need
more memory. I don't know if I can run any
faster than this. I don't play any game so I probably don't need more
memory.
