Cooling Fan by Loch Doun
I purchased a lighted cooling fan for my pc case. I like the way the lights look but the sound of the fan is just too loud for me to take. To turn off the fan I taped down one of the fan blades with scotch tape. Is this method harmful to my system? I'm afraid it might burn out the motor or...

DDR 400 by Shane Allen
Hi I bought two computers recently. The one board had a 2,4Celeron chip and the other had a 2.4 Pentium Prescott chip. I bought 256 ram DDR 400 for each. The one with the celeron chip registers the 256 DDR 400 ram but the Prescott Pentium does not register it on startup. It only gives the speed...

Overclocking by David
Ok, so I'm a relative newbie to the whole hardcore PC people. I'm trying to learn as much as I can because I would loke to be a...ummmm...experiencedbie? Anyway, the term "overclocking" is used a whole lot these days, and I have no idea what it means. What does it mean? -David

Athlon 64 Mobos by zixaq
I'm building a computer for a friend, and he wants something with as much muscle as possible in the $800 range. I think I've thrown together a decent system, but I have reservations about the Mobo. From the reviews I've seen, the SIS 755 chipset is probably the best around for a socket 754 proc,...

Wireless modem for PC by Rich
I have the following situation. The phone jack is across the room from where the PC is. I prefer not to buy a long cord that can reach the phone jack. Is there a wireless modem that I can buy for a regular PC ? And most importantly, is it any good ?

Backups: Psuedo-external Hard Drive vs. Obsolete Interface? by [email protected]
Options. Psuedo-external Hard Drive would have the cheapest purchase cost. Leave the backup drive in the case sitting in a bay adapter. I think I'd rather disconnect this drive between backups, so I guess I'd have to set jumpers for cable select? I don't imagine CMOS would "wear out" from frequent...
