You know you're old when: by
pheasant
You buy 2 x 256mb DELL PC100 SDRAM for 6 bucks a stick. 18 bucks with
shipping.
I remember paying 125 bucks for 8mb of the same back in 92-93.
Amazing!

To SLI or not? by
Fitz
Considering a computer upgrade from an AMD64 754 pin system (AGP) to a
AMD64 X2 4800. Is SLI stable enough and offer
enough of a performance boost to justify 2 512MB 7950's, or would one
1GB 7950 offer about the same performance (or more stability)?
The motherboard would be an ASUS A8N 32 SLI...

Lockup help needed by
Ook
I have a FoxConn mother board, AMD Duron 1300 cpu with big fan/heat sink.
One WD 60GB hard drive, one Belkin wireless network card. Antech 300w
supply, which I've swapped with some generic 350w supply. Had Asus nvidia
GeForce4000MX board, swapped it with my old trusty GeForce2. If I run...

Advice by

I need some advice on a computer I built about 2 years ago. The MB is
an Abit NF7 ver.2 w/an XP2200 cpu, 256 mg ram, slow generic 10 gig
harddrive, 420 PSU, old CD burner, player, XP Pro (a plus), no SATA but
an open PCI slot or two. The case is a roomy Antec atx though. It's
been ok for my...

Thanks for the tips. Seems the most logical thing to do is to keep the
case and replace everything in it, except maybe the power supply, oh
it does have a linksys wireless card that's new. What's really
aggravating though is just about as soon as I do, it'll...

Implosion of the case? by

What happens if I close all the point of entering of the air in my
case? Does air still enter through the point of exit of the fans? Or
does it implode?
Thanks

simple(I think) dvd-drive question... by
-- TW
I have a dvd I made -- plays fine in my dvd player (hooked to my tv).
When I try to play it on my computer's dvd-drive, it doesn't even
recognize that there's a disc in there.
Please advise.
Thanks!

I used the Live! card for a few years and found it only worked best with the

PC Case Recommendation by
Geoff
Hello All,
I was reading through revviews of beige pc cases on newegg and nothing
really stood out.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a beige case? I know sonata is the
best but unfortunately, they are black only.
Thanks.

Shutdowns and graphical artifacts. Opinions? by
pertheusual
Yeah, that's what I've been figuring. I dread having to call tech
support about this.
Anyone else have any opinions?
The rebooting and needing to cut power is what was making me think
possibly MB.

I figured I'd see What you guys think.
Ok, so on my way back to school this year, my computer was upright in
that car for travel. After arriving, the system ran fine for the
first week or so, then I started getting graphics artifacts every
once in a while.
Thinking it was something on the OS, I...
