Hi all!
Consdering a new system...
I've considering putting a new system together. I have the following
components in mind. Does anyone see any components that are
bad/not-so-good choices?
My main priorities are a system that can run any version of Windows

USB External Drive - recomendations? by
Provocative
Hi, I'm in the market for a USB External Drive, say around 200-300Gb, not
the portable type.
Backup software not essential as most bundles are not so good.
Cool, reliable, quiet.
Haven't got multiple PCs at home but would there be any advantages to
network...

Vista, or XP? by
Evert
Hi all!
I am about to install a new system. I have Win XP Pro laying around
here, but also RC2 of Windows Vista. Which should I install?
The end-user of the system prefers Windows Vista, but also the least
amount of possible hassle...
Since he'll be wanting Windows Vista Home Premium when it...

I have a new case. It has a small fan in the front to draw in aid.
Larger 120mm fan in back to blow out air. 610watt PSU has a fan in it
of course.
Adding CPU fan. Have Zalman but do not like it and am trying one with a
large block type heat sink and fan on the side-awaiting delivery.
Running...

Rollingstone06
The manual says simply hook into a USB port, and that thereafter Data
Traveller II Plus will be displayed in the "My Computer"
utility as a Removable Disk.
Well, this isn't happening. Please advise asap!
Cheers,

Why wont my computer start? by
Davy
What happens when you press the power button... do you get the Post
(Power On Self Test) beep from the bios..? If you don't then nothing
will happen apart from the fans spinning, if this is the case then it
could well be the bios memory retention battery that is duff... these
things last around...

To floppy or not to floppy? by
Jeff
....almost have my 1st full machine finished. ...trying to decide on whether to put in a floppy drive. I can easily foresee needing
the bay that a floppy would occupy for a harddrive instead (removable tray, etc.). From what I gather, the only likely thing that I
would need a floppy for would be to...

What DTV tuner for PC? by

I've had a Nebula for a while now, but I've got two problems with it.
The software seems to make my PC unstable, I often get Desktop icons
vanishing, and secondly it won't fit in my new PC case unless I remove
the motherboard first (one of the antenna sockets fouls the case).
My requirements...

Sizing a power supply by
MikeB
Hi all,
I'm planning on building a new computer as a bit of a pastime. One of
the interesting obstacles that I came across is that I can't find any
guidance on how to size the power supply.
I'm planning on an Intel Core 2 Duo E6700, an Intel DB975XBX
motherboard, possibly 2G of Ram, 2 SATA...

Increasing memory in server by
[email protected]
Hi
I have a Win2003 server with 2x512MB memory installed. But during
startup a message gets displayed, "limiting memory to 256MB!". And so
there is only 256MB memory available which infact should be 1GB. can
someone please tell me how i can make use of the full physical memory
available?
