Hi
I just upgraded from a Athlon 1ghz to a Athlon XP 2400 on a Gigabyte
GA-7VXP Motherboard. Now the Athlon XP 2400 works perfectly at a 100FSB
(XP1800) but the system won't post with a 133FSB.

What is the max theoretical speed for XP-2400+ by
goblin
Just wondering if I should try pushing mine further. It's rated 2g and
running stable at 2280. All I've done is up the FSB in the BIOS, from
266 to 304. If I increase the FSB further then it doesn't recognize all
my ram, ie, 768 will show on boot instead of 1000
Any suggestions for...

A7V8X-X by
Mike Gorman
Potentially stupid question, so please be kind.
I have a 400FSB barton chip that I'd like to test however I only have an
A7V8X-X which, although it supports a 400FSB memory does not support 400FSB
CPU's. Will I do irreperable harm to said MB by plugging in a Barton chip?
Or do I merely risk a no...

Quick question: raising the fsb of a Duron 1200 on an a7n8x-x by
Asfand Yar Qazi
Hi,
Here's what I'm thinking of doing: the Duron 1200 is obviously running
the 333MHz memory at 200MHz... (or the 166MHz memory at 100MHz, whatever
:-) Can I set the fsb upto 166/333, and set the multiplier accordingly
without doing the 'pencil trick' on the Duron? Or do I have to do the
pencil...

2800+ by
Dan
Simple question with a complex answer.
Has anyone been able to get their barton 2800 over the 2.4ghz limit
that I seem to have. Nothing I do seems to allow it to get higher.

One of my AMD processors just up and died on me :( by
DaveL
This is really weird. I upgraded my main box (1700+ tbred B DUT JIUCB, Epox
8RDA+) about a month ago by swapping the cpu with a 2100+. I put the 1700+
into my old MSI Nforce1 box. The thing was running at default setting and
NOT overclocked. While I had it in my Epox it was mildly...

NF7-S on die temp by
A. Paris
Hello all!
I was just wondering if the NF7-S reads the cpu die temp as opposed to the
MB thermal diode. The reason I ask is because I used to have a Soyo Dragon
KT400 Ultra Plat mb that read on die temps & those temps were always cooler
than the mb sensor reported. I figured it's because of the...

A7N8X-E Deluxe FSB problems by
Paul
Just got hold of A7N8X-E Deluxe and 1GB GEIL PC3500 but am having
problems getting the FSB to work over 200Mhz. The CPU im using is a
XP2400+ (Tbred-B) which is known to be able to clock reliably to about
2250.
The maximum FSB in which the machine will boot windows is 202Mhz except

O/T a little, US suppliers that ship to the UK? by
Homer
Hi,
Looking to upgrade some parts and was wondering if anyone knows of any good
US retailers that will ship to the UK with a sensible shipping charge? With
the very low dollar at the moment I'm looking to get some bargains.
TIA
Homer.

Assistance please! Building new computer... by
Ben
I bought parts from Newegg to build a new computer and it won't start.
I have built 6 or 7 and, I'm slow, but they've all been successful in
the end. But this time... I don't know.
When the power is plugged in, I can see a standby power LED on the
motherboard that is on. When I push the start...

Seriously underclocked by

I know it's ancient history, but I'm putting together a machine for my 7
y.o. son.
I ran across this mobo from a salvaged system
(http://web.epox.com/html/motherboard.asp?product=EP-58MVP3C-M&lang=1)
and replaced the AMD-K6 233 with a K6-2 450 that I bought for next to
nothing on eBay. Well, come...

I have a Compaq Presario 12xl223 laptop(600 MHz) that could use a little
more life. Opened it up and seen that the processor is a socket 370,
nothing special about it.
I have a 766 MHz processor on my shelf here that will drop right in, but
the bios will not recognize it. is there another bios out...

Athlon 2100+ running hot? by
GlueGum
According to the BIOS, my CPU Temperature has hit 52C. I have this cpu oc'd
to 2.1g with 200fsb, 10.5 multiplier and 1.75v. A Vantec aeroflow is on the
cpu and the case has a front and rear 120mm fan.
Is 52C too hot?
Thanks.
